My confidence is as a spider’s web
Delicate and lightly strung
Not always clear to see
From some angles
In certain light
You may just catch it glistening
Beautiful, sparkling, a wonder
In other angles
Invisible to all
Easily brushed aside
Without care or bother
Ultimately, however
The web’s construction is intricate
And the threads are strong
Strong as hell
And as with any other
Its destruction is short-lived
A spider can rebuild
And it does, often.
My confidence is as a spider’s web
Brush it aside, by any means
I’m used to it, most certainly
But I will rebuild it
Spin another
Just as intricate
Just as beautiful
And even stronger
